La cartouche de neutralisation du pH AF-20-3231-BB Aries FilterWorks est conçue avec Calcite®. La calcite est un milieu naturel de carbonate de calcium. L’un des avantages de la Calcite est sa propriété auto-limitante. Lorsqu'il est correctement appliqué, il corrige le pH juste assez pour atteindre un équilibre non corrosif. Il n’y a pas de correction excessive dans des conditions normales. Au contact de la calcite, les eaux acides dissolvent lentement le carbonate de calcium pour augmenter le pH, ce qui réduit le lessivage potentiel du cuivre, du plomb et d'autres métaux présents dans les systèmes de plomberie typiques.
