This Genuine LUMINOR RAINIER RQ-1000 UV Replacement Quartz Sleeve is the replacement sleeve for LUMINOR RAINIER UV water purification systems LR5-852, LR6-852, LR5-1752, LR6-1752, LR5-855, LR5-855-2, LR6-855, LR6-855-2, LR5-1755, LR-1755-2, LR6-1705, and LR6-1705-2.
The quartz sleeve keeps the UV lamp from shorting out and maintains the lamp's ideal operating temperature. Mineral build-up hinders the lamp's effectiveness, so if the sleeve cannot be 100% cleaned, it needs to be replaced. It is recommended to clean the UV sleeve at least annually and have a spare UV sleeve available, which is an easy do it yourself replacement.
